I’m Mercedes (or Meche), an award-winning Toronto-based playwright, poet, actor, producer, and the Artistic Director of First Born Theatre.

My art is community-driven, rooted in kindness, and deeply creative. I strive to write plays that push the boundaries of theatre and tackle big philosophical questions from a queer and Latina lens.
